Continued from Part 5

My genetic genealogy journey of a temporary genealogy brick wall for yet another new DNA mystery match relative that had just showed up, when I already know all the descendants in that line, continues with Part 6.

While still trying to get working numbers for my match and his mom, I left off last in Genealogy Brick Wall: Another New DNA Mystery Match-Part 5 by narrowing down my possible match relationships in DNA Painter, using deductive reasoning. I used the DNA Painter Shared cM Tool and their relationship histogram charts.

Compare Relationships against Dates and Places, Again:
Now it’s time to narrow down my deductions even more, by comparing the possible relationships left against dates and places!

My grandfather born: 1918 Albany, MO; he was in Wichita, KS until the age of at least 14-17, then in South Gate, CA by at least the age of 17 in 1935. He stayed and died in Los Angeles County, CA.

His older brother (my great uncle) born: 1908 Albany, MO; he was in Wichita, KS until the age of at least 22-27, then in South Gate, CA by at least the age of 27 in 1935. He was then back in KS by at least April of 1940, then back in South Gate in October of 1940 and still accounted for until the marriage of his 3rd wife in December of 1941. He was once again unaccounted for from 1942-1951, when in 1951 he was in Tacoma, WA. In 1953 he was in St. Louis, MO, then once again unaccounted for until his death in 1970 in New Mexico. He was married at 18, then divorced somewhere between 1930 and 1934. He remarried in 1934 and divorced for a second time somewhere between 1938- 1941. He remarried for a 3rd and final time in 1941. My great Uncle was in the Military, and all over the place. He seems like a good candidate. 😉
His older sister (my great aunt) born: 1914
His younger sister (my great aunt) born: 1923

I am going to eliminate his sisters, as it would have been obvious if they were pregnant.

By building my own quick tree for my match's lines, where I only had his father and "Private" mother to go off of, which I talked about in Genealogy Brick Wall: Another New DNA Mystery Match-Part 3 and Genealogy Brick Wall: Another New DNA Mystery Match-Part 4, I had found the following:

My match was born: 1988 (33 years old)
My match’s father born: 1951 in Wichita, KS
My match’s mother born: 1958 Los Angeles County, CA
My match’s paternal grandfather born: 1930 Concordia, KS
My match’s paternal grandmother born: 1930 KS
My match’s maternal grandfather Born: 1938 Los Angeles County, CA
My match’s maternal grandmother born: 1937 Los Angeles County, CA

This info is based off no one being adopted, etc.

No matter what, he (my mystery match) is descended from my grandfather or his sibling, most likely his brother…

More Centimorgan Relationship Elimination:
Now I just need to work with the last possible centimorgan relationships that I had narrowed it down to, with my new findings. In Genealogy Brick Wall: Another New DNA Mystery Match-Part 5, I had narrowed it down to 2c, ½ 1c1r, 2c1r (and a possible 1c2r from the histograms in the DNA Painter Shared cM Tool).

Where I last had narrowed down my relationship possibilities using the DNA Painter Shared cM Tool

If my mystery match is my 2c, then he would be my grandfather’s brother’s (born 1908) grandchild, which means one of my match’s parents (born 1951 & 1958) are possible. As far as I know, my great uncle was NOT in Wichita when my match’s father was born nor in Los Angeles when my matches mother was born, so 2c (my great uncle’s grandchild) is much less of a possibility.
If he is my ½ 1c1r, then he would be my grandfather’s (born 1918) great grandchild, which means one of four of my match’s grandparents (born 1930, 1930, 1938 and 1937) is my grandfather’s child. If I compare it to birth dates and places, 2 are now possible (my match’s maternal grandparents).
If my match is my 2c1r, then he would be my grandfather’s brother’s (born 1908) great grandchild, which means one of four of my match’s grandparents (born 1930, 1930, 1938 and 1937) is my great Uncle’s child…All four are possible with the birth dates and places.
If he is my 1c2r (2 generations below), then he would be one of my full aunt’s or uncle’s great grandchildren. Since my match does not match with my paternal grandmother’s line, that is NOT possible.

So, in short, I am now left with my match having a higher possibly of being my grandfather’s great grandchild, or my great uncle’s great grandchild.
